Two naxals killed in encounter in Chhattisgarh’s Sukma
Intermittent gun battle ensued between security forces and the Maoists. After firing ceased the bodies of two hardcore Maoists, one female and one male, were recovered.
Kothagudem: Two Maoists were killed in an encounter in Sukma district of Chhattisgarh State on Saturday.
A statement from Sukma police said that on February 28, a joint team of Sukma district reserve guard (DRG) and CRPF CoBRA personnel undertook an anti-naxal search operation following the information about the presence of Maoists in the Kistaram area in the district.
The operation continued on Saturday. Intermittent gun battle ensued between security forces and the Maoists. After firing ceased the bodies of two hardcore Maoists, one female and one male, were recovered along with weapons and the bodies of Maoists were being identified.
Intensive search by the security forces at the encounter site and nearby areas was going on, the statement said.
