Two nominations filed for Khammam Local Authorities’ MLC election

TRS candidate T Madhusudhan filed nomination papers for the Local Authorities' MLC Constituency election in Khammam on Monday.
Khammam: Two nominations have been filed for Khammam Local Authorities’ MLC Constituency election here on Monday. TRS state secretary, T Madhusudhan along with Transport Minister Puvvada Ajay Kumar and MLA L Ramulu Naik submitted his nomination papers as the party candidate to District Collector and Returning Officer, V P Gautham. Earlier in the day the minister handed over the B-Form to the candidate at the TRS district party office. Speaking on the occasion he hoped that the victory of Madhusudhan was certain. The TRS party enjoys public support, he said.
Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao was working for the welfare of all sections. Chief Ministers’ ideas and actions have ensured justice to the farmers of the country. The Centre must withdraw its proposal to fit meters on farmers’ irrigation pump sets, Ajay Kumar noted. Madhusudhan expressed confidence that he would be elected as the MLC of Local Bodies Constituency. The voters in erstwhile Khammam district were with the TRS as they were impressed with the Chief Minister’s good governance.
56 year old Madhusudan hails from Pindiprolu village of Tirumalayapalem mandal in the district. Born into a Left-wing family, he worked in the CPM party from 1986 to 1996 before joining TRS in 2014. He served as president of the Telugu Association of Metro Atlanta (TAMA) and Secretary of the Telugu Association of North America (TANA) during 1998 and 2014. Telangana MPTCs Association Khammam district president, Kondapalli Srinivas Rao was the other candidate who filed his nominations as an independent. He is a member of Peruvancha MPTC in Kallur mandal.
Meanwhile, the election officials informed that the last day for receiving nominations was Tuesday and the nomination papers would be taken up for scrutiny on Wednesday. The last day for withdrawal of nominations is Nov 26.
As many as 18 district officials have been appointed as Nodal Officers in Khammam district while 17 district officials were made Nodal Officers for making arrangements for the election in Kothagudem. A draft voter list with 768 voters in both Khammam and Kothagudem districts and voters in Bayyaram and Garla mandals of Mahabubabad district was also released recently.
