Kumram Bheem Asifabad: A Special Officer and Panchayat secretary were arrested by the Anti-Corruption Bureau allegedly while accepting a bribe of Rs 12,000 from a contractor for issuing a cheque relating to a developmental work at Pochamloddi village in Jainoor mandal on Saturday.
Adilabad ACB DSP VV Ramana Murthy said special officer Durshetti Tirupathi was apprehended red-handed while receiving the bribe through secretary Madishetti Shekhar from Kendre Subodh Kanth. The two would be produced before a special court for ACB cases in Karimnagar. Tirupathi was also the Tahsildar of Jainoor mandal.
Subodh approached the ACB when Tirupathi harassed them seeking the bribe to the issue cheque relating to a work taken up at an estimated cost of Rs 9.10 lakh in the village.
