Nalgonda: With the consent of rice millers and owners of harvester machines, the district authorities have declared two days holiday a week for harvesting paddy to regulate the arrival of paddy to the mills. The decision was taken at a meeting held by Additional Collector V Chandrasekhar and Superintendent of Police AV Ranganath with rice millers, owners of harvester machines and members of Rythu Bandhu Samithis in Udhyaditya Bhavan on the premises of the district Collectorate at Nalgonda on Thursday.
Speaking at the meeting, Chandrasekhar said that harvesting paddy crop at a time by the farmers would result in queue up of vehicles at the rice mills. Friday and Sunday were declared as crop harvesting holidays this week. Form the next week, it would be implemented on Thursday and Sunday, he added.
