Two senior CPI Maoist leaders surrender before Telangana police

Two senior underground CPI (Maoist) leaders, Pasunoori Narahari alias Vishwanath and Medara Danamma alias Latha, surrendered before Telangana police on Tuesday. Telangana DGP CV Anand handed over reward amounts to the leaders, who had been associated with the Maoist movement for decades

Hyderabad: Two senior underground CPI (Maoist) leaders surrendered before the Telangana police on Tuesday.

Pasunoori Narahari alias Vishwanath, Central Committee Member, and Medara Danamma alias Latha, State Committee Member, surrendered before the police. While Vishwanath carried a reward of Rs 25 lakh, Latha carried a reward of Rs 20 lakh.


The reward amount was handed over to the surrendered Maoists by Telangana DGP CV Anand.

Vishwanath joined the movement in 1982 and continued in the party in different capacities for nearly 44 years.

Latha joined the movement in 1986 and continued with the party till her surrender.
