Siddipet: Municipal authorities imposed fines on two shop owners, who have felled trees planted on the premises of their shops as part of Telangana Ku Haritha Haram, along the Karimnagar road in Siddipet town on Friday.
Municipal Commissioner Ch Ravinder Reddy instructed the shop owners to plant and raise 20 plants at their farms as compensatory work besides paying the Rs 10,000 fine each. Haritha Haram officer, Samala Iliah, who handed over the challans to the shop owners, has said that they will initiate strict punishment if anyone is caught damaging trees in Siddipet municipality.
