Two government school students from Adilabad district died Thursday—one during a sports event and another under suspicious circumstances in Chennur

Adilabad/Mancherial: Two students studying in government schools died in separate incidents in erstwhile Adilabad district on Thursday.

In the first incident, Rathod Bunny, a Class IX student died while playing Kho-Kho in Telangana model school in Narnoor mandal headquarters of Adilabad district.


Bunny lost consciousness while taking part in a sports competition as part of forthcoming Republic Day celebrations. Staffers of the school performed Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) on him before shifting him to a primary health centre in Narnoor mandal headquarters.

Doctors declared that he was brought dead. He was from Narnoor mandal centre.

Meanwhile, Maragoni Ajay, a 14-year-old Class X student from a minority residential school, died under suspicious circumstances at an integrated vegetable and meat market in Chennur town of Mancherial district on Thursday.

Police rushed to the spot and made inquiries into the incident. A suspicious death case was registered and investigations were taken up.
