Jeddah: Two fathers from Telangana, both working in Saudi Arabia, are desperately running from pillar to post to travel home to have glimpses of their children who died in tragic accidents back home in India.

Sakalam Bheemaiah of Mustabad Mandal in Rajanna Sircilla is in a state of inconsolable grief and desperate to have the last glimpse of his only daughter. Bheemaiah, however, had become an illegal resident after he absconded from his employer, which is preventing his travel to India. He came to work with a cleaning company three years ago, absconding from it allegedly due to poor working conditions. Bheemaiah’s only child Manogya (5) died in a tragic school bus accident on Monday in his native place after the child went to school for rehearsal of the Bathukamma festival. The driver of the school bus reversed the vehicle without realising that she was standing behind and ran over her.

On the other hand, Nalakonda Raghupati, a native of Yellareddypet mandal of the same district, has been working in Saudi Arabia, also as a cleaning labourer. His only son 18-year-old Rakesh died in a tractor mishap two weeks ago when he was preparing the tractor for the Ganesh idol immersion procession in the village.“My documents are valid, and I am a legal employee of the company, yet my company is delaying in approving my exit to leave the country,” said Raghupati, adding that the nod of the employer was mandatory in Saudi to leave the country for expatriate workers.
