Two-town police in Khammam books a CI for deceiving a married woman

Khammam: An Inspector of Police, now attached to the DGP office, has been booked for allegedly deceiving and impregnating a married woman in the district by falsely promising to marry her and later forcing abortion.
According to sources, the woman in question approached the women’s police station in Khammam in February, 2026 to lodge a complaint against her husband following family disputes. The accused Raju Naik, who was CI of the police station, took her mobile number, got acquainted with her and started calling and messaging her frequently.
He later lured her with the promise of marrying her; had sexual intercourse on several occasions making her conceive and subsequently causing abortion. The victim in her complaint stated that the accused CI administered medication to her to induce abortion twice.
It was said that both the parties initially approached village elders to settle the matter amicably. As they could not reach an understanding to resolve the matter she lodged the complaint on May 7.
Based on the complaint, the two-town police registered an FIR in crime number 264/2026 against Raju Naik under Sections 69 (Sexual intercourse achieved through deceitful means) and 88 (Act of voluntarily causing a miscarriage) of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita BNS, 2023.
