Kothagudem: Two watchmen working at a private school at Manugur town in the district have died of electric shock.

The incident occurred when the deceased, Ch Upender Rao (48) and D Ratnam (55) of Kalimata temple area in the town were removing an iron flag post at the school.


While removing the iron pole, the duo accidentally came in contact with a live electricity distribution line by side of the school compound wall and died on the spot after suffering a severe electric shock.

The local MLA P Venkateshwarlu, former MLA Rega Kantha Rao, leaders of Left parties and student unions reached the school extending support to the duo’s family members who demanded the school management to pay compensation.

DSP Ravinder Rao and CI Sathish Kumar also visited the spot to take stock of the situation.
