Tumakuru (Karnataka): Four people, including a two-year-old child, were killed and three others seriously injured in a head-on collision between two cars in this district on Friday, police said. The accident occurred near Godekere Gate in Chikkanayakanahalli taluk of Tumakuru district. According to police, the accident occurred when a car, allegedly travelling at high speed from the Turuvekere side, collided with another car coming from the Chikkanayakanahalli side.
Four people died on the spot, while three others, including a pregnant woman sustained serious injuries. Both cars were completely damaged in the collision. Locals struggled to extricate the injured from the mangled vehicles. The injured were shifted to the Chikkanayakanahalli Government Hospital for treatment, police said, adding that further investigation is underway.
