Two youngsters arrested for kidnapping, sedating and attempting to rape two minor girls in Nirmal

In Nirmal, two minor girls were allegedly kidnapped and sedated, with one reportedly raped at a park in Nizamabad district. Police arrested Shaik Saleem and another accused, registering cases under POCSO, SC/ST Prevention of Atrocities Act, and other relevant sections

Nirmal: Two minor girls from this town were allegedly kidnapped, sedated and then one of them was allegedly raped at a park in Nizamabad dsitrict on Saturday. Two persons were arrested for their role in sexual assault on Sunday.

Police said that Shaik Saleem and Shaik Saleem from Nirmal town were apprehended on the charges of abducting the minor girls, sedating them by offering ganja and then attempt to sexual assault on the girls from Sofinagar in the district centre, following a case registered against the two based on a complaint received from parents of the victims.


A case was registered against the two under relevant sections of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhitha, the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, and SC, ST Prevention of Atrocities Act as the girls were from weaker sections. Investigations were taken up. Teams were formed to nab the accused persons. The teams took the two into custody while moving suspiciously.

While a girl was raped at a park near Pochampahad village in Nizamabad district, another girl reportedbly managed to escape from the two and alerted her parents who in turn approached police in the evening. Locals demanded stringent action against the perpetrators when a message of the incident went viral on social media platforms.

In the meantime, SP Dr Janaki Sharmila said that steps were being taken to take stern action against the perpetrators. She reiterated that violence against girls would not be tolerated under any circumstances. She stated the security women would be given paramount importance in the district.
