Two youngsters drown in Godavri in Mancherial
Chennur police reported that the two young individuals from Dugnepalli entered the river for a fun swim, despite not knowing how to swim.
Mancherial: Two youngsters Dasari Sai (16) and Kondu Arun (18) drowned in Godavari river when they were taking dip in it at Sundarshala village in Chennur mandal on Friday.
Chennur police said both the youngsters who hailed from Dugnepalli were taking a dip in the river for fun. The two ventured into the river though were not familiar with swimming.
Four of their friends who were standing on the banks of the river alerted their family members who in turn informed police about the incident. The police launched a search operation to trace the bodies. They could not retrieve the bodies till 5 pm.
