Medak: Two youngsters had a miraculous escape after being swept away in the Manjeera river and clinging onto a rock for hours on Saturday.

According to Papannapet police, about 20 youths from Kukatpally in Medak district visited the Edupayala temple to immerse the goddess Kanakadurga idol near the check dam across the river. After completing the ritual, they entered the river, which was in spate, for a dip when one of them, Vinay, slipped into the waters.
