Hyderabad: A woman from the UK travelled to Hyderabad to undergo bariatric surgery at Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS), Gachibowli.
She weighed 102 kg before surgery and is expected to reduce her weight to around 70 kg following the procedure, Dr Kesava Reddy Mannur, Clinical Director, Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery, KIMS Gachibowli, said.
“In 2023, I performed bariatric surgery (Gastric Bypass) in London on Jane Fox, the husband of Alexandria Fox. Jane lost 64 kg and experienced complete relief from back, hip and knee joint pains, along with resolution of diabetes and hypertension. Seeing these results, Alexandria, who weighed 102 kg and suffered from hypertension, kidney failure and thyroid issues, travelled to Hyderabad to undergo surgery by me,” Dr Mannur said.
Alexandria works as a licensed London Black Taxi Driver and, given the physical demands of the job, she wanted to ensure her health did not hold her back.
