Hyderabad: With educational institutions’ closure in the northern Indian States of Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab and Rajasthan, as tension remained escalated between India and Pakistan, uncertainty looms over the conduct of different national-level entrance examinations across the country.

The National Testing Agency (NTA), which is conducting the Common University Entrance Test (UG) 2025 from May 13 to June 3, has released the admit cards for the entrance tests on the website https://cuet.nta.nic.in/ on Saturday evening, while it was supposed to release the four days prior to the examination.

However, there are apprehensions among students and parents whether the entrance tests will be held as per the schedule as the ICFAI has already deferred its examinations amid escalating tensions.

The ICAI said remaining papers of Chartered Accountants Final, Intermediate and Post Qualification course examinations (international taxation – assessment test) scheduled until May 14 stands postponed.

Further, the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced 2025 is also facing a cloud of uncertainty. The entrance test for admissions to Indian Institutes of Technology is scheduled for May 18.

The registrations and payment of fee concluded on May 2 and 5 respectively with issuance of admit cards slated for May 11. Given the situation the country is facing, it remains to be seen whether IIT-Kanpur, which is organising the test, will release the admit cards or defer the exam.
