Mancherial: An unemployed youngster committed suicide by consuming a pesticide as he was allegedly depressed over the delay in recruitment notifications by the government. The incident took place at Babbera Cheluka village in Kotapalli mandal on Sunday. Kotapalli Sub-Inspector Nagaraju said that the deceased was identified as Asampelli Mahesh (25), a DEd holder from Babbera Cheluka. He was working as a collection boy at a finance company.
Mahesh resorted to taking the extreme step as he was disheartened by his unemployment. He left home on Saturday and consumed a pesticide at an agriculture field on the outskirts of the village. His body was found in the agriculture field on Sunday. A suicide note purportedly written by the youngster was recovered from his residence, which read that he was upset over his joblessness.
“Please forgive me, mummy and daddy for cheating you. I promised you that I would get a job. I feel ashamed to depend on you at this stage. I would have prepared for appearing in written examinations had the government issued notification for filling posts that have been lying vacant with various departments. I am depressed to hear comments of neighbours over my unemployment,” his note reads. Based on a complaint received from the parents of Mahesh, a case was registered. The investigation has been taken up by the police.
