Unified Ticketing System proposed for Hyderabad metro and TGSRTC

Chief Secretary Sanjay Jaju has proposed a unified ticketing system across Metro and TGSRTC services in Hyderabad, reviewed Metro Rail progress, and directed officials to expedite land acquisition, approvals, and procurement of additional coaches.

Hyderabad: Chief Secretary Sanjay Jaju on Friday suggested a common mobility ticketing system be introduced across all public transport services such as Metro and RTC, enabling passengers to travel on a single ticket.

The Chief Secretary instructed officials concerned that discussions be held with TGSRTC to develop a common mobile application. He also directed officials to explore options for introducing daily, weekly and monthly passes for Metro passengers.

For the first time, Jaju, as Chairman of the HMRL Board of Directors, reviewed the development of Metro Rail here. The meeting discussed the latest progress on Phase I takeover and Land acquisition and utility shifting status for Phase II of the Metro project.

He also reviewed the status of approvals for Metro phase-2. The Chief Secretary instructed officials to take necessary steps to procure additional coaches at the earliest.
