Adilabad: Mukhra (K) village earned a special recognition in Telangana with its Sarpanch taking part in a video-conference with Union Water Resources Minister Gajendra Singh who enquired about manufacturing of organic fertilizers and for registering 100 percent toilets in the village, on Thursday.
Mukhra (K) village was among the nine habitations across the country to have been selected for the conference.
Gajendra Singh advised rural civic bodies to draw inspiration from Mukhra (K) village in effectively implementing government schemes and developmental programmes. He was all praise for Sarpanch Gadge Meenakshi for developing the village on many facets. He asked the head of the village about how she was managing the waste and the village achieved 100 percent toilets.
Meanwhile, Collector Sikta Patnaik congratulated the villagers and the Sarpanch on being chosen for the video-conference by the Union Minister. The Collector said that the village brought lawrels to Adilabad district. She also told heads of other villages to take a cue from Mukhra (K) and to develop their civic bodies in different aspects.
