Hyderabad: Union Minister of State for Panchayat Raj Kapil Moreshwar Patil said the Telangana government’s Palle Pragathi programme was aiding in addressing long-pending issues, besides facilitating planned development of villages.
The Union Minister arrived in Hyderabad on a tour and Telangana Panchayat Raj Minister E Dayakar Rao met him at a hotel here on Saturday. Panchayat Raj and Rural Development secretary Sandeep Kumar Sultania also accompanied the Telangana Minister.
The programmes being implemented by the State Panchayat Raj and Rural Development department were resulting in comprehensive development and transformation of villages across Telangana, said the Union Minister of State for Panchayat Raj Kapil Moreshwar Patil.
He appreciated the State Government’s initiative in constructing Vaikuntadhamams, dump yards and other facilities for people under NREGA.
Telangana Panchayat Raj Minister E Dayakar Rao appealed to Patil to increase the grants being allocated to rural bodies under 15th Finance Commission as they were far lesser than grants allocated under 14th Finance Commission. He also wanted the Central Government to sanction funds for capacity building of Panchayat Secretaries and other staff.
The Union Minister of State for Panchayat Raj responded positively and left for inspecting different development works being taken up in Vellanki and S lingota villages in Yadadri Bhongiri district.
