Hyderabad: A virtual event titled ‘Peace & Harmony through Yoga & Ikebana’ was presented by First Master Ohryu Rekha Reddy in the city on Saturday.
“The theme ‘Yoga & Ikebana’ is a celebration of two schools of thought that have many things in common. Yoga promotes physical, mental and spiritual well-being. This ancient Indian science and its benefits are unparalleled. It is valued all over the world for its benefits,” Rekha Reddy said, adding that in the demonstration, nine asanas in the form of Ikebana floral creations were represented, from simple Padmasana to more advanced Mayurasana.
The event had Ikebana demonstrations by Rekha Reddy and her senior students Associate First Master Sharmila Agarwal and Third Master Deepti Yajnik, while the guests of honour were Taga Masayuki, Consul General of Japan, Chennai, and Yogacharya Shashidhar, International Yoga Guru.
