University of Hyderabad shines in Asia rankings 2026

The University of Hyderabad has secured a top-tier position in the Times Higher Education Asia University Rankings 2026. The ranking highlights its strong academic performance, research output, and global collaborations, placing it among the top Indian institutions.

Hyderabad: The University of Hyderabad (UoH) has secured a top-tier spot in the Times Higher Education Asia University Rankings 2026. In the latest rankings, which assessed 929 universities across 36 countries, UoH remains a leader among India’s Central Universities, consistently placing within the top 20 Indian institutions featured on the prestigious list. Regionally, the university continues to hold its ground in the competitive 251-300 bracket in Asia.

The 2026 data underscores the university’s commitment to academic rigour, particularly through its high faculty-to-student ratio and significant PhD output, the UoH said, adding that the varsity received high marks for its academic reputation and a high volume of publications in high-impact international journals.

The university’s research in Chemistry and Life Sciences remains a primary driver of its global citation impact, the UoH said.

The institution showed “steady growth” in industry income, bolstered by increased consultancy and patent filings. It maintained a stable performance in attracting diverse talent and fostering global collaborations.
