Hyderabad: Demanding their long-pending salaries, vocational trainers under the School Education department staged a protest at the Secretariat here on Wednesday. The protesters expressed their anger towards the government stating that they have been facing severe financial hardships, as they have not been paid for the last 12 months.
Vocational trainers, who initially staged a protest at the School Education department in Saifabad, marched to the Secretariat in a rally, where they sat down in front of the South-East gate and raised slogans against the government and contracting agencies. They alleged that the contracting agencies were functioning in violation of rules and regulations, causing them financial and mental distress.
As a sudden protest disrupted traffic, police personnel detained the protesters after assuring that an appropriate action would be taken to address their grievances.
