Unseasonal rain created flutter in Karimnagar

Unseasonal rain and strong winds damaged paddy stocks in Karimnagar district Tuesday night. Trees and electric wires were uprooted, disrupting power supply. Electricity staff restored services by 3 a.m. after clearing debris, while soaked crops at procurement centres added farmer distress

Karimnagar: Unseasonal rain coupled with strong winds damaged paddy stocks in several parts of erstwhile Karimnagar district on Tuesday night.

Trees and electric wires were damaged due to strong winds. Power supply was disrupted in many places as trees, flexies and hoarding fell on electric wires. Paddy stocked in procurement centers was soaked in the rain water in a few areas.
