Untimely rain, hailstorm damage crops in 11,298 acres across Telangana
State government calls for a final assessment report before initiating measures for payment of compensation

Hyderabad: Standing crops in 11,298 acres were left damaged in the State due to hailstorm between March 21 and 28. Untimely rains caused extensive damage to crops in 64 revenue mandals of 18 districts.
According to preliminary reports, crops that suffered rain ravage include paddy in 6,090 acres and maize in 4,100 acres besides mango and other crops in over 800 acres. The government has called for a final assessment report by enumerating the losses before initiating measures for payment of compensation.
