UoH researcher Srinivas Duvvada, wins Dr. Yellapragada Subbarow FABA Award 2025 for vaccine innovation
University of Hyderabad doctoral researcher Srinivas Duvvada has won the Dr. Yellapragada Subbarow FABA Award 2025 for his pioneering work on next-generation vaccine strategies using extracellular vesicles. His research focuses on engineered probiotic-derived vesicles for needle-free, oral immunisation.

Hyderabad: Srinivas Duvvada, Doctoral Researcher at the School of Life Sciences, University of Hyderabad, has been conferred the prestigious Dr. Yellapragada Subbarow FABA Award for Doctoral Students – 2025 by the Federation of Asian Biotech Associations (FABA).
This recognition by the FABA honours his outstanding research on Next-Generation Vaccine Strategies using Extracellular Vesicles. The award includes a cash prize of Rs.1,00,000 and will be formally presented at the FABA Innovation Awards Ceremony on August 23 during the Pune-Mumbai Innovation Cluster Meeting hosted at DYPIU, Pune.
Srinivas, an emerging researcher in vaccine and extracellular vesicle engineering research with prior industry experience at Sanofi, is a member of the International Society of Extracellular Vesicles.
He was also awarded Best Oral Presentation award at VESICON 2025, ‘Where Vesicle Science Meets Clinical Innovations’ organized by Indian Extracellular Vesicles Society, at Mahindra University, Hyderabad in March 2025.
His award-winning PhD work on next-generation vaccine strategies under the guidance of Dr. Nooruddin Khan, Professor, Department of Animal Biology at UoH,; leverages engineered probiotic-derived Outer Membrane Vesicles for needle-free, oral immunization—offering innovative solutions to global health challenges.
