Hyderabad: Seema Prasad, a PhD scholar, received the Humboldt Postdoctoral Research Fellowship. She has recently submitted her thesis under the supervision of Prof Ramesh Kumar Mishra at the Centre for Neural and Cognitive Sciences, School of Medical Sciences, University of Hyderabad (UoH). Her PhD work was on examining the role of goal-driven factors in unconscious processing of information, a press release said.
Considered very prestigious, the fellowship is awarded by the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation to carry out independent research in collaboration with a host institution in Germany.
Seema is gearing up to work under Prof Bernhard Hommel at TU Dresden for 18 months on issues related to attention and metacontrol. Prof Hommel is a co-founder of Leiden Institute for Brain & Cognition and has recently moved to TU Dresden.
