Hyderabad: The University of Hyderabad (UoH) will be launching new initiatives under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 in the next academic year i.e., 2022-23.

This was announced by UoH Vice-Chancellor, Prof BJ Rao in his address during the 73rd Republic Day celebrations at the campus on Wednesday.

“Our NEP-2020 is about to be launched in the next academic year 2022-23. The NEP- 2020 committee has done laudable work in road mapping the implementation of NEP-2020. We need to gear up towards a newer and novel multi-disciplinary course curriculum much more student-centric and competitive. More innovative and far-reaching e-learning modules need to be designed and implemented in NEP-2020,” Prof. BJ Rao said.

Despite the Covid induced lockdown, the university witnessed good placements. The placement guidance advisory bureau of the university has ensured placements for 421 students in 230 companies during the academic year 2020-21. For the academic year 2021-22, about 269 students have already been placed in various companies, and this number is likely to go up further.

The university is constructing 13 buildings with an investment of about Rs.160 crore. “Most of them will be available before December 2022. In addition, we plan to invest to build world class infrastructure worth over a few hundred crores, in a short span of 2-3 years,” he added.
