UP BJP MLA Brijbhushan Rajput escapes unhurt as truck rams into escort vehicle in Mahoba

Mahoba (Uttar Pradesh): BJP’s Charkhari MLA Brijbhushan Rajput had a narrow escape after his escort vehicle was hit by a speeding, allegedly uncontrolled truck loaded with bananas in Uttar Pradesh’s Mahoba district.
According to the police, while the legislator escaped unharmed, his official gunner, private security guard and driver sustained injuries in the accident. The impact left the MLA’s escort vehicle, a Scorpio, extensively damaged.
The accident took place near the Sankat Mochan Temple under the jurisdiction of Kharela police station.
According to the officials, the speeding truck rammed into the escort vehicle accompanying the BJP MLA before attempting to flee the spot. However, locals chased the vehicle, caught hold of the driver and prevented him from escaping.
The police said that the presence of mind of driver Ravikant Mishra prevented a potentially fatal accident. Officials said that just seconds before the truck collided with the convoy, Mishra managed to steer the MLA’s vehicle away from the road and into a roadside ditch, helping Brijbhushan Rajput avoid the direct impact of the collision.
Following the incident, residents gathered at the spot and apprehended the truck driver while he was allegedly trying to flee. After receiving information, personnel from Kharela police station reached the scene, took the accused driver into custody and initiated further legal proceedings, according to the officials.
Although MLA Brijbhushan Rajput escaped the mishap without injuries, his official gunner, private guard and driver were hurt in the collision and sustained injuries. The escort Scorpio suffered extensive damage due to the force of the impact.
Police have taken the truck driver into custody and are investigating the circumstances that led to the accident. Further action will be taken based on the findings of the investigation.
