Hyderabad: Upasna Kamineni Konidela, Vice Chairperson of Apollo Foundation and Apollo Life, adopted a pair of Asiatic Lions — Vicky and Laxmi — at the Nehru Zoological Park on Saturday.
Upasna, along with her sister Anushpala Kamineni, presented a cheque of Rs 2 lakh to the zoo curator, S. Rajashekar, towards the adoption charges and maintenance of the lions for a period of one year.
Speaking on the occasion, Upasna said that she is very impressed with the maintenance and good health condition of all the animals. She appreciated the zoo staff for their dedication and service in maintaining the health of 2000 animals housed in the zoo.
The zoo curator thanked Upasna and Anushpala for strengthening their wildlife conservation programme by adopting a pair of lions.
