Uppal police arrest chain-snatching suspect and recover gold chain

Hyderabad: The Uppal police arrested a youth for allegedly snatching a gold chain from a woman and recovered the stolen ornament.
The suspect was identified as P Raju alias Rakesh.
According to the police, the complainant, Laxmi, was targeted while she was walking in the locality when Raju allegedly snatched her mangalsutra and fled.
A case was booked, and the police examined CCTV footage from the crime spot and surrounding areas, which helped them identify the suspect and trace his movements.
Based on the evidence collected, the police nabbed Raju and seized the stolen gold chain.
Further investigation is on to ascertain whether he is linked to other chain-snatching cases in the city.
