Khammam: In a tragic incident, a man allegedly committed suicide a day after his son’s death by suicide at Sathupalli town in the district.
Sources said Challa Bhanu Prakash, a 10th class student of a private school near Mamta Hospital area in Khammam, was allegedly admonished and suspended by the school management for celebrating his birthday with his friends in the classroom a few days ago.
Upset by the development, the student consumed poison and died while being treated at a hospital in Hyderabad on Friday. The last rites of the boy were performed at a funeral ground on the outskirts of the town on Saturday.
The boy’s father, Challa Rambabu (45) went missing on Saturday evening after his son’s last rites were over. The family members, who were searching for him, found his dead body hanging from a tree at the funeral ground where his son’s funeral was conducted, on Sunday.
Family members of the deceased alleged that the school management’s attitude has cost the lives of the father and the son. They demanded police to take serious action against the school management. Meanwhile, the local police booked a case and launched a probe into Rambabu’s death.
