A 25-year-old software engineer from West Godavari district died by suicide in his hostel room in Yellareddyguda, Hyderabad, after losing money in online betting. He was found hanging in the bathroom. Madhuranagar police have taken up investigation
Hyderabad: Upset over losing money in online betting, a software engineer died by suicide by hanging in his hostel room in Yellareddyguda on Sunday.
The victim identified as V Pavan (25), a native of West Godavari district in Andhra Pradesh was working in a software firm in Begumpet and stayed at a men’s hostel in Yellareddyguda.
According to the police, Pavan who was habituated to online betting had lost money in it and became debt ridden. Scared of the consequences, he hanged from the exhaust fan in the bathroom of his room.
On being alerted by his roommates, the Madhuranagar police reached the spot and took up investigation.
