Upset over losing money in online betting, youth ends life in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: Upset over losing huge money to online betting, a youth died by suicide in Attapur on Wednesday night.
K Pavan (20), a M.Tech student of a private college in Masab Tank, was staying in a rented apartment with his friends at Attapur in Rajendranagar.
According to the police, though when he started is unclear, Pavan was spending money on online betting and also online games. However, he could not earn anything in return and lost all the money.
Upset over the losses, he recently informed the losses to his father who supported financially and comforted him. However, the youngster continued to remain isolated most of the times.
On Wednesday, he hanged from the ceiling fan in his room and ended his life in the absence of his roommates.
On receiving information, the Attapur police booked a case and took up investigation. Officials said they were working on the clues and checking if online games and online betting was the only reason for Pavan’s death.
