Hyderabad: Technology-based jobs are becoming the need of the hour in the post-pandemic world and the Information Technology (IT) sector has been seeing an uptick in hiring. A new study has found that the IT-based job postings from Hyderabad – which is considered a tech hub – have seen an increase in the last one year. Trends analysed by Indeed showed that between September 2020 and September 2021, the job postings from the city saw a rise of 10 per cent and it is among the top cities for IT-based job postings.

On an overall country basis, the job postings recorded a 13 per cent increase in the same period and when compared to the pre-pandemic times i.e. from September 2019 to September 2021, the job postings saw a 26 per cent jump. Bengaluru saw an almost 32 per cent increase in job posting in the last one-year period and Pune was in the second spot with 11 per cent increase.

The analysis also showed that in terms of different job profiles, the postings for software engineer saw a 9 per cent jump, while developer saw 7 per cent, senior software engineer saw 5 per cent, application developer saw 5 per cent, and full-stack developer saw 4 per cent jump in September 2020 as compared with September 2021.

“There was a war for talent in the IT sector, yet there were some roles which were the hardest-to-fill which included roles like support escalation engineer, business objects developer, application security engineer, and technology solutions professional among other roles,” Indeed said in a release.

Indeed head of sales Sashi Kumar says, “The relevance of tech jobs continues to remain consistent both pre and post-pandemic. The resilience of the IT sector in the challenging job environment shows India Inc’s inclination towards moving to a digital future in the post-pandemic world. The continued reliance on technological solutions to meet the needs for shopping, remote working and learning has amplified the importance of tech jobs across industries and cities.”
