Adilabad: Farmers continued to face inconvenience due to a shortage of urea in parts of erstwhile Adilabad district on Monday.
Serpentine queues were seen at primary agriculture cooperative societies in Chennur mandal centre of Mancherial, Lokeshwaram mandal headquarters in Nirmal, and Koutala in Kumram Bheem Asifabad district. In several places, farmers placed footwear to mark their turn to buy the fertiliser. A schoolboy was also seen assisting his parents while waiting in line at Lokeshwaram.
Displeased farmers regretted that they were forced to wait for long hours to purchase a single bag of urea. Pointing out that timely supply was crucial for growing paddy, cotton, and other crops, they urged officials to ensure adequate stocks and prevent further inconvenience.
