US Open 2026 Day 2 schedule: Alcaraz, Sabalenka in action

Defending champions Carlos Alcaraz and Aryna Sabalenka begin their US Open 2026 title defences on Day 2 in New York. Naomi Osaka, Iga Swiatek, Stan Wawrinka and several other top players will also feature across multiple courts.

New York: The US Open 2026 is underway, with an action-packed Day 2 lined up in New York. The opening day produced some fascinating action, including a major shock as 24-time Grand Slam champion Novak Djokovic suffered a first-round exit against Mariano Navone in a five-setter after battling physical issues.

Day 2 will see defending champions Carlos Alcaraz and Aryna Sabalenka begin their campaigns as they look to defend their titles. Alcaraz is back in action after a lengthy wrist-injury lay-off and will open his campaign at Flushing Meadows against Roman Safiullin, while Sabalenka will face Camila Osorio.

Grand Slam winners Naomi Osaka, Iga Swiatek and Stan Wawrinka will also be in action, while star players Ben Shelton, Stefanos Tsitsipas, Frances Tiafoe and Felix Auger-Aliassime will begin their campaigns in New York.

Last year’s runner-up Amanda Anisimova will also begin her campaign against Ashlyn Krueger, while seventh-seeded Karolina Muchova is slated to face Sinja Kraus in her opener.

Marin Cilic was scheduled to face Andrey Rublev in another intriguing clash, but the Croatian has withdrawn due to injury.
