Nirmal: Minister for Forest and Environment A Indrakaran Reddy on Tuesday advised the public to utilise the services of 108 ambulances.
The Minister was speaking after flagging off three modern vehicles given to the district as part of the gift-a-smile initiative in Area Hospital here.
Indrakaran said the modern ambulance vehicles would be useful in providing better medical services during medical emergencies. He suggested the citizens of the district to rely on the vehicles for shifting patients of various diseases and victims of road accidents.
The Minister stated that the ambulances were equipped with oxygen, ventilators and other latest medical equipment to offer quality healthcare. He added that a sum of Rs 61.50 lakh was spent for buying the vehicles donated by him as part of the initiative conceptualised by Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development K Taraka Rama Rao on his birthday.
Zilla Parishad Chairperson K Vijayalaxmi, municipal chairman Gandrath Eshwar, TRS leaders Allola Gowtham Reddy, Area Hospital medical superintendent Devender Reddy, and others were present.
Indrakaran later reviewed the progress of developmental works at the Collectorate. He asked the officials of various departments to expedite the works relating to Raithu Vedika buildings and many other schemes.
