Karimnagar: Electoral Roll Observer, M Veerabramaiah advised the people to utilise the special voter enrolment drive started on Sunday. Youngsters who crossed 18 years of age should register their names in the voter list as well as the people who wanted to make changes in the voter list should utilise the opportunity.

The ERO, along with Collector RV Karnan, visited polling stations and examined voter list at Mukarampura Urdu Medium High School, and Karkanagadda Government High School of Karimnagar town, Kothapalli ZPHS in Kothapalli mandal and Durshad ZPHS in Karimnagar rural mandal on Sunday.

Later, he interacted with booth level officers (BLOs), Anganwadi teachers, and resource persons and enquired about the new voter enrolment and correction process. Veerabramaiah said every year, voter enrolment process would be done and instructed BLOs to enrol in the voter list all the youths who crossed 18 years of age by January 1, 2022.

Remove the names of the deceased voters by taking Form-7 from their family members or suo-moto. Besides double voters, the name of the people, who migrated permanently, should also be removed from the voter list. He also instructed the officials to correct it through Form-8 if the residential area and polling booth of voters were located in different areas. He wanted the officials to prepare a perfect voter list. Tahsildhars Sudhakar (Karimnagar urban), Srinivas (Kothapalli), BLOs, Anganwadi teachers and resource persons participated in the programme.
