Hyderabad: Following the temporary closing at the end of 2021 brought on by the surge of Covid-19 cases all over India, Uttar Dakshin, the renowned Classical Jugalbandi series of concerts, presented by Vivid Arts, is reopening in February with a series of events in all major cities, beginning from Hyderabad at Ravindra Bharathi auditorium.
Uttar Dakshin is a unique Jugalbandi series presenting the classic elements of Hindustani and Carnatic forms of the wind instrument, the flute, by two prominent artistes of international repute. It will be held in Hyderabad on Saturday, February 13 at Ravindra Bharathi auditorium at 6 pm.
Dakshin will be a celebration of kinds as these two flautists of two different forms are set to treat the audience with their unique styles of their own, playing together. The programme is again a hybrid concert which will have audience at the auditorium and will also be streamed online for people who want to be a part of it.
The two greats on flute, Pandit Ronu Majumdar and Shashank Subramanyam, perform a very rare Jugalbandi. Audience will get to listen to two different forms of the flute versions which are set to mesmerise the audience with their magical performances.
The other accompanying artistes are: Ojas Adhiya (tabla), Parupalli Phalgun (mridangam).
