Uttar Pradesh Boys, Tamil Nadu Girls clinch titles at 49th Sub-Junior Basketball Nationals in Hyderabad

Jatin was the standout performer, scoring 18 points in Uttar Pradesh's 56-49 win over Delhi in the boys' final. In the girls' final, Mercy (15 points) and Kavisri (13 points) combined well as Tamil Nadu defeated Maharashtra 68-46 to clinch the title.

Hyderabad: Uttar Pradesh boys and Tamil Nadu girls were crowned champions of the 49th Sub-Junior National Basketball Championship, organised by the Telangana Basketball Association and the Basketball Federation of India at the Sports Authority of Telangana Indoor Stadium, Saroornagar, Hyderabad, on Sunday.

Jatin was the standout performer, scoring 18 points in Uttar Pradesh’s 56-49 win over Delhi in the boys’ final. In the girls’ final, Mercy (15 points) and Kavisri (13 points) combined well as Tamil Nadu defeated Maharashtra 68-46 to clinch the title.


Finals: Boys: Uttar Pradesh 56 (Jatin 18) bt Delhi 49 (Yadav 11); Girls: Tamil Nadu 68 (Mercy 15, Kavisri 13, Swathika 10) bt Maharashtra 46 (Anusha 17, Nyla 12).
