Hyderabad: Uttar Pradesh former Chief Minister and Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav lashed out at the BJP government at the Centre for its insensitivity towards farmers of Telangana. He called for unification of like-minded forces to fight together against the BJP’s policy of subjugating the farmer to the corporate entities.

In a tweet supporting the agitation initiated by Chief Minister and TRS President K Chandrashekhar Rao, Akhilesh Yadav said the Chief Minister of Telangana sitting on a dharna against the anti-farmer thinking and policies as well as degrading behaviour of the Central government shows that the BJP government was being grossly insensitive. “We are all one against the BJP policy of subjugating the farmer to the corporate. The crop of democracy will grow only in the soil of struggle!” he said.

An increasing number of leaders from various political parties and farmers organisations are extending support to the struggle taken up by the TRS against the Centre over its discrimination towards Telangana in paddy procurement. While the Centre is yet to respond to the Chief Minister’s 24-hour deadline, several leaders as well as general public are extending their support through social media.
