Vikas was playing in the water and suddenly strong waves pulled him into the sea. Before we could react, he was gone,” she said.

Following the incident, the local lifeguards swung into action and began efforts to reach and rescue him. However, Vikas was not traced till late Sunday evening.

Vikas, was working at a private company, and the family had planned the vacation a few weeks ago. On coming to know about the incident, a few of the family members left for Odisha.

The family has appealed to the Telangana government to take up the issue with the government of Odisha and assist in tracing Vikas.
