Vaccination drive to be taken up in 14 centres in erstwhile Karimnagar

A total of 14 centres have been identified for vaccination in Karimnagar, Jagitial, Peddapalli and Rajanna-Sircilla districts on the first day of vaccination process from Saturday

Karimnagar: Elaborate arrangements have been made for the vaccination drive in the erstwhile Karimnagar district. Since the vaccine has already reached all district headquarters on Wednesday, district administrations were all set to roll out vaccine.

A total of 14 centres have been identified for vaccination in Karimnagar, Jagitial, Peddapalli and Rajanna-Sircilla districts on the first day of vaccination process from Saturday. The vaccine would be administered to 30 persons at each centre.


In Karimnagar, vaccine would be administered in the district headquarters hospital, Huzurabad areas hospital, Butti Rajaramcolony urban health center and Thimmapur primary health center, and in Jagitial, it will be taken up at district headquarters hospital and Metpalli community hospital. The exercise will be conducted at district headquarters hospital, Godavarikhani area hospital, Sultanabad community health center and Laxmipur (Ramagundam) urban health centre in Peddapalli district.

In Rajanna-Sircilla, Sircilla area hospital, Thangallapalli, Vemulawada and Illandakunta PHCs were identified for vaccination. Full-pledged vaccine process would be started from January 18 in 99 centres including Karimnagar-31, Jagitial-26, Peddapalli-26 and Rajanna-Sircilla-16. In the first phase, front life worriers including doctors, medical staff, health workers, pharmacists, ANMs, Anganwadi staff and ASHA workers would receive the vaccine shot.

A total of 25,519 staff including 12,519 in Karimnagar, 6,100 in Jagitial, 3,500 each in Peddapalli and Rajanna-Sircilla have registered for the vaccination. Rajanna-Sircilla collector D Krishna Bhaskar on Friday visited four vaccination centres and examined arrangements.

Speaking on the occasion, he said people had no need to worry since the vaccine was safe. 1,280 doses (128 vials) of vaccine were reached to the district. There would be 10 doses in each vial. Details of the people, who made applications for vaccination, were registered in Co-WIN APP.

They would get messages on their mobile phones about time and venue for the vaccination. Immunised persons would be put under observation for half an hour in the rooms arranged in the centre. Doctors and required medical kits would be made available in centres if anybody develops health problems, he informed.
