Vaccination gets underway in Adilabad: Indrakaran Reddy

Speaking after inaugurating vaccination drive, Indrakaran stated that the government made elaborate arrangements for smooth conduct of the vaccination across the State.

Adilabad: Forest minister Allola Indrakaran Reddy asserted that the scientists developed the Covishield vaccine for the novel coronavirus and the medicine was made available to the public for free, fulfilling the dreams of the citizens of the country.

Speaking after inauguration of vaccination here on Saturday, Indrakaran stated that the government made elaborate arrangements for smooth conduct of the vaccination across the State. He requested the public to not take the virus lightly, considering the availability of the vaccine. He urged them to maintain physical distance and to wear face masks to prevent spread of the virus.


Meanwhile, MLA Jogu Ramanna and his counterpart Nadipelli Diwakar Rao took part in the similar event organized in Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS)-Adilabad and at the district headquarters hospital of Mancherial, respectively. Adilabad Collector Sikta Patnaik, Additional Collector of Mancherial Ila Tripathi District Medical and Health Officers Dr Narender and Neeraja were present.

Dr YC Srinivas was the first person to be vaccinated in Adilabad district, while Kampalli, an employee working with Aarogyasri wing of a blood bank at Mancherial district headquarters hospital underwent the vaccination for the first time. The healthcare workers were under observation for 30 minutes after taking the vaccine, no complications were reported.
