Hyderabad: Vehicle registration services across the Regional Transport Offices faced disruptions on Monday as recurring technical issues in the Vahan software slowed down operations, leaving vehicle owners waiting for hours to complete their transactions.
The software, which was recently upgraded, has been experiencing intermittent outages and slow response times, affecting key services such as new vehicle registrations and other transport-related transactions.
The frequent disruptions have led to delays in processing applications and increased waiting times for applicants.
Sources in the department attributed part of the problem to the learning curve associated with the new system, stating that both staff and users are still adapting to the updated software platform.
The situation was further aggravated by the rush of applicants at RTOs, following the second Saturday and Sunday holidays.
Meanwhile, long queues were reported at several offices as vehicle owners arrived to complete pending registrations and documentation work.
Many applicants expressed frustration over the delays and urged the department to resolve the technical issues quickly to ensure uninterrupted public services.
