Hyderabad: In view of the increased demand, the Kacheguda – Yesvantpur – Kacheguda Vande Bharat Express will now run with enhanced passenger carrying capacity, South Central Railway (SCR) officials said on Monday.
The train, which was earlier operating with eight coaches and a passenger capacity of 530, has been enhanced with a revised composition of 16 coaches with a capacity of 1,128 passengers from July 10, an SCR press release said.
Train No. 20703/20704 Kacheguda – Yesvantpur – Kacheguda Vande Bharat Express was initially introduced with an eight-coach composition, which included one Executive Class and seven Chair Cars. Since the introduction of regular services, the train has been operating with more than 100 per cent patronage consistently.
Taking into consideration the increased demand for this train, the Indian Railways has decided to augment the existing train rake with eight additional coaches.
The new composition will have 14 Chair Cars with a capacity of 1,024 passengers and two Executive Class coaches with a capacity of 104 passengers, totalling 1,128.
Sandeep Mathur, General Manager, SCR, said that with the doubling of coaches, more rail passengers will now be able to avail Vande Bharat train services between the IT cities, i.e., Hyderabad and Bengaluru.
