Vattepally murder case solved: Realtor murdered over black magic suspicion; Falaknuma police arrest six

Falaknuma police have solved the murder of realtor Mohd Mehboob Ali, who was stabbed to death in Vattepally on August 30. Seven suspects, including a juvenile, were arrested after investigations revealed that the prime accused believed Ali had practised black magic against his family, leading to illness and death.

Hyderabad: The Falaknuma police have solved the murder case of Mohd Mehboob Ali (53), a realtor who was brutally stabbed to death in Vattepally early this week, with a black magic-related belief suspected to be the motive.

Police nabbed six suspects and a juvenile in connection with the case and recovered material allegedly linked to the killing.

According to the police, the prime suspect Mirza Mohsin Baig allegedly believed that Ali had used black magic against his mother, Tahera Begum, which he suspected had caused her prolonged illness. Baig also believed Ali was responsible for the death of his maternal uncle, Mohammed Khaleel, through alleged black magic.

Police said Baig discussed his suspicions with his cousin, Mohd Imran Ahmad, who advised him to eliminate Ali and assured him that he would help the accused secure bail. The two subsequently joined hands with Mohd Naseer, Shaik Akram, Mohd Abrar Ali and Mohd Sami alias Shutter, along with a juvenile, to execute the murder.

On the night of August 30, the suspects learnt that Ali was near Almas Hotel and procured knives and daggers and travelled to Vattepally on scooters. The group caught Ali and stabbed him multiple times. He died later while undergoing treatment.

Based on a complaint from the victim’s son, Mohd Shanawaz, the Falaknuma police booked a case, traced and nabbed the suspects.
