Hyderabad: On the occasion of Earth Day, Vedakumar Manikonda, Chairman of the Deccan Heritage Academy and founder of Balaranya (a traditional agricultural farm), demonstrated his commitment to environmental conservation at the Balaranya Nature Center in Pragnapur.
Established in 1993, the Nature Center reflects his vision of integrating traditional agriculture with nature conservation. Guided by the philosophy that ‘every day is Earth Day,’ he has been consistently promoting sustainable practices and environmental awareness.
As part of the Earth Day activities, he planted a variety of saplings along with agricultural workers. Working alongside them and recognizing their skills, he emphasized the importance of collective effort.
“Protecting nature is everyone’s responsibility. Safeguarding natural resources such as air, water, and soil is our duty. Every individual should plant at least one tree and nurture it, thereby leaving a green legacy for future generations,” he urged.
