Mancherial: A BJP leader died by suicide allegedly unable to bear the harassment of Congress leaders at Kothagudem hamlet under Neelwai gram panchayat in Vemanapalli mandal on Friday. Police said BJP Vemanapalli mandal president Eta Madhukar (45) from Kothagudem resorted to the extreme step by hanging himself from a tree on the outskirts of the village.
The BJP alleged that Madhukar was forced to take the extreme step due to harassment by Congress leaders and false cases registered against him. They demanded that the government take steps to prevent recurrence of such incidents in future. They said Madhukar was a sincere leader of the party but became a victim of political vendetta by the Congress.
